POR-15

Step #3 in the 4 step process. POR-15 is a paint-like substance, and works as a total rust inhibitor and preventive. POR 15 is also very effective as a metal filler.

POR-15: Its consistency is approximately that of paint, with a very good spreadability (one Pint covers 50 square feet). POR-15 chemically bonds to rusted steel to form a rock-hard, non-porous coating that won’t crack chip, or peel. It works by isolating metal from moisture. Without moisture present, steel can’t rust. Use it to coat rusty frames, fl oor pans, or even a heavily corroded battery tray.

POR-15 is sensitive to UV light (sun) and must be topcoated for prolonged exposure to sunlight. Topcoating is not required for areas not exposed to sunlight.

Thin covering coats are best. POR- 15 will accept all paints, including lacquer-based paints. POR-15 is impervious to fuels, battery acid, oils, etc.
